Dioman Jeanne Gbou (Henriette)
Traditional and contemporary dancer, actress, singer and percussionist. Dioman Gbou is a professional dancer with over 20 years of experience. She made her debut as a dancer with the Compagnie ADOSS de la Côte d'Ivoire in 1985. A talented performer, she dances and sings over the years for various ballets: the artistic ensemble Tenzo, the Ballet de Marahoué, in addition to accompany the Ivorian singer Marie-Jeanne Tezo in a show of traditional songs.
After sixteen years of world touring for the Cirque du Soleil show Dralion, where she played the role of La Terre, she moved to Montreal in 2008 and created Kôtou Danse. To share her experience and knowledge, she offers dance and fitness classes for adults and workshops for children in schools, while working on various productions.
Dioman has participated in several events in Abidjan in Ivory Coast including the MASA (African Arts and Shows Market), the World Congress of Musical Youth and the FITD (International Theater Festival for Development) in Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso . She won first prize in the Vacances-Culture competition organized by the Ivorian Ministry of Culture as well as third prize at the Circus Festival in Monaco in France.
